WWI Dated Norwegian Krag-Jorgenson Rifle. This is a superb and beautifully engineered rifle. It has a distinctive magazine that is integral with the receiver. It has an opening on the right hand side with a hinged cover to make loading quicker. This clever design allows rounds to be inserted through the side opening, and pushed up, around, and into the action by a spring follower. Very clever and advanced for the time. This example is dated 1918 with matching numbers. During the First World War, Norway issued a declaration of neutrality. However, at the time the newly independent Norway was highly dependent on foreign trade, and was pressured by the allied powers to break off trade with Germany and hand over an increasingly large portion of their merchant fleet to the UK. This stunning and rare rifle comes with an original leather sling, correct oiler, pull through cord, cleaning rod and inert 6.5mm rounds. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
