Deactivated WWII Colt M1911A1

This is a great condition Second World War manufactured Colt 1911A1. The serial number dates to 1945 as the year of production. This example also has some unusual post war markings. The name Silesia and the German proof markings. "Silesia" was a large German firearms distributor who marked firearms they sold with their name. They were in business during the post-war period when Europe was awash with surplus guns. This would indicate that this Colt 1911A1 most likely remained in Europe after the WWII afterwhich it was when sold through Silesia. Note the German proof stamps - Eagle over N.
