Deactivated WWII US Springfield M1903 Rifle

This is a superb condition WWII US Springfield M1903 Model 03-A3 rifle that was manufactured by Remington it is dated December 1943, who that month produced 56,251 rifles. The serial number also confirm this as the month of production. This rifle would have been made in preparation for Operation Overlord - D-Day. A classic World War Two US rifle. It was used by US forces throughout WWII, and saw action during the Korean and Vietnam wars. The initials RIA in the stock are those of the Rock Island Arsenal who were contracted to repair / rework weapons that returned back to the US after WWII. The woodwork also bear the P proof and flaming grenade ordnance stamps.
