This is a very rare genuine WWII Nazi single-rune SS issued K98. According to Richard D Law's book "The Back Bone of Wehrmacht" who is considered to be one of the worlds leading experts on the subject and who's collectors grade book covers all aspects of the K98 production, states that only 8,233 are known to have been made in this configuration in 1943 by Steyr-Daimler-Puch (bnz) . We have included an image and the relevant literature from his book of the example that he has viewed. Both this k98 and ours carry the same markings on the receiver and barrel confirming this example to be the real mccoy and a very rare find! He also states that all of these single-rune K98's have serial numbers with no letter suffix, with the highest recorded serial number being 8233. Our example falls within this range and is no 7989. The barrel is correctly marked with a single Waffenamt WaA623 , Ru code and maker roundal/symbol.

This rare K98 is still currently live and has a superb bore, is in proof and ready to be shoot! Chamber in its original calibre 7.92mm.
