A WWI German imperial army Gew98 rifle S98/05 'Butcher' knife bayonet with steel scabbard. Manufactured by P.D.Luneschloss, Solengen, it is a real First World War survivor! It is an early war example, pre 1916 with muzzle plate on top of the grip. The scabbard bears many battle scars and has done its job of protecting the bayonet.
