This is a WWII production Wilkinson Sword Company (WSC) 1907 Pattern Bayonet & Scabbard. Dated March 1944 (3'44), Wilkinson were the only contractor to make SMLE or 1907 Pattern bayonets in WW2 with most being issued to the Admiralty for use on Lanchester machine guns. The last contract to Wilkinson was October 1943 and this bayonet would have almost certainly been produced in preparation for the D-Day invasion. This example is marked with the correct WWII dispersal code S294 that was only used by Wilkinson Sword Company.
