This is a WWII German M40 helmet fitted with a 1943 dated liner by B&C Litzmannstadt. The helmet has been painted in whats referred to as the "Normandy Camouflage" colours. This is most likely a post war finish that has been added to improve its looks and making ideal for re-enactment or for display.
