This is a matching numbers and maker WW2 German K98 rifle bayonet & scabbard. The makers code S/172 was only used by Cark Eickhorn. The date code 36 denotes 1936 as the year of production. Both bayonet and scabbard are correctly stamped with WaA253. The blade is in good original condition and has not been re-sharpened.
