WW1 WW2 Vickers Machine Gun Tripod Transit Chest

This is a wooden transit chest for Vickers machine gun Tripod only. Inside is the original orange painted finsh with the makers initials  "F /I\ H" with a broad arrow acceptance stamp between them. The date or serial number 1939 is stamped in one external corner. The stencilling on the front looks to be a British NATO inventory code. The Vickers remained in service until the 1960s. The chest has the internal wooden leg divider and both rope carry handles.
