Winchester 1892 Under Lever Rifle

This is a Winchester Model of 1892 Under Lever Rifle chambered in .44 WCF. The serial number dates to 1899. That year Winchester made just 6,389 of this model. This one has definintely seen plenty of action. The stock is marked "H71" possibly a US or British unit stamp. The bolt has an early British proof stamp which indicates that this rifle was imported to the UK in early 1900s. The bore is still surprising good order for a rifle of this age, and the action is firm and crisp.
