A British made Webely-Bentley percussion 5 shot, double action, open frame self-cocking revolver, circa 1860s. In 1857 Joseph Bentley held a patent for a Double Action Revolver with only very few ever being produced by Bentley himself. However, he did make an agreement with a small group of Birmingham Gunmakers to produce and sell them for him on a commission sale basis. This example has Birmingham proof stamps. This example has British proofs and the calibre of 52 Bore (11.3mm) stamped on the barrel. The hexagonal barrel measures just under 6 inches. Webley-Bentley revolvers were used during the US Civil  and Crimean wars. The action is still fully functional and indexes each time it cycles.

This revolver is chambered in an obsolete calibre and can therefor be owned live without any form of license. The rifling is in good condition.

It is not deactivated in any way and is being sold as a collectors piece only.
