Super Rare WW2 Vickers K Machine Gun Sight

This is an incredible rare genuine WW2 British RAF marked Vickers K machine gun rear sight . This example is marked "50 MPH" meaning it was intended for vehicle use when mounted on a jeep or truck. The maximum speed of 50 mph not to be exceeded for accurcy. REF. No7A/1141 denotes the RAF reference / armourments and stores / inventory numbers. The vast majority of these were given or "borrowed" by the newly formed SAS and LRDG - Long Range Desert Groups during WW2. The SAS are most famously depicted with a pair of improvised Vickers K guns mounted to their jeeps and trucks. The RAF had little use for these ground marked sights during the war, most being used by the SAS or LRDG who were the predominantly armed with the Vickers K. If you collect SAS or LRDG equipment or have a Vickers K then this is a must have. A very rare and unusual find!!

This one has definitely seen service and still retains the majority of its Suncorite painted finish and has a clear wear mark near the base above the mounting holes and where it was once mounted.
