If you are looking for a German MG08 that definitely saw active service during the First World War, then this is the one for you!!! This MG08 was recovered from the Somme battlefield and is reputed to have been discovered on the British side. The theory being it was damaged beyond repair and harvested for parts by the British afterwhich the carcass dumped. This would explain why it is missing all ancillaries and interal parts. The bullet / shrapnel hole and dent in the barrel jacket would also support this claim. The MG08 was the Imperial German Armies "Vickers machine gun" capable of the same devastating rate of fire, with both sides utilising captured guns.

Relics of this gun are seldom seen here in the UK, those that have been recovered often reside in museums in France. This intact carcass consists of a water jacket, side plates, opticial sight bracket and removable flash hider. It contains NO viable relevent components and is therefore completely legal to own as a piece of war curio. You are very unlikely to ever seen another one and it would be a fantastic display item.
