This is an early WWII German 10.5cm brass shell. The fuse is dated 1936 with the makers initials Rhs - Rheinmetall, Soemmerda plant. The shell base is stamped with the early Nazi dropped winged eagle over acceptance stamp WaA107. The 10.5cm round was fired from leFH 18 Howizter, Gebirshaubitze 40, a mountain howitzer. As the war deepened brass was in short supply and the majority of shell cases were then made from steel.
