First Year of Production Schmidt Rubin M1897 Cadet Rifle

This is a rare first year of production Schmidt Rubin Model 1897 Cadet Rifle or Kadettengewehre. Production started in 1898 with just 2,100 made that year. Serial numbers ran from 1 to 2100, this rifle being number 1921st from that first batch. In total only 15,477 were made before production ceased in 1927. This example has all visible matching numbers and looks to be completely original. The bore is in excellent condition throughout with strong even rifling. As with all the Schmidt Rubin straight pull variants from this period it exudes quality. The action on this rifle is still firm and crisp when you consider it is 127 years old, and would have been used by countless young cadets!! A credit to its design....

This rifle is chambered in an obsolete calibre 7.5 x 53.5mm and can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
