An original Second World War Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) made BESA medium machine gun. Used extensively by British forces throughout WWII. It was used on tanks and other armored vehicles, such as AFV's (armored fighting vehicles). A superbly engineered gun, it shares many similarities with the Bren and MG37. Both of Czech decent in terms of design and build quality. Because of this, It was an extremely reliable and durable machine gun, and was used to replace the aging Vickers machines during WWII. This example is a MKIII*, dated 1942 and broad arrow marked. Comes fitted with original vehicle mounting plate and chain. A great piece of British WWII history that would make a excellent addition or centre piece to a collection. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
