This is a rare early First World War manuafactured Hungarian Frommer Baby pistol. All wartime pistols were made by Fegyver és Gépgyár Részvénytársaság (FEG), Budapest from 1912 to 1918. The serial number of pistol is 27,619 that dates to 1914. Serial numbers for that year ran from 18,000 to 30,000. The model was advertised as the "Military Rifle In a Vest Pocket" . It was also chambered in military size calibres of 7.65mm or 9mm. This claim made referrence to the pistols locking mechanim, similar to that used on a military bolt action rifle. The compact size and reliablity found favour with troops as a back-up weapon easily concealed within a soldiers clothing or boots.
