Deactivated WW2 US Thompson M1 Submachine Gun

This is a Second World War manufactured United States Army issued Thompson M1 submachine gun. Dating to 1943, it was made by Savage Arms Corporation who are estimated to have made 464,800 M1 and M1A1's during the war. This Thompson retains its original matching numbers to the receiver and trigger assembly. The receiver is correctly marked with the US military Ordnance acceptance stamps, and the stock is stamped with the numbers 82. This maybe a rack number or possibly make referrence to the 82nd Airborne Division? The 82nd Airborne were involved in the D-Day landing in Normandy (June 1944) seeing extensive and prolonged action from their initial day of landing and subsequently suffering huge losses.
Deactivated to current specifications with its original bolt that will return under spring pressure. This Thompson is available and is currently at the proof house being certificated.
