This is a WWII manufactured US M1 Carbine. Manufactured by Inland Divsion of General Motors in the same month of the D-Day landing (Operation Overlord) it is dated 6-44 (June 1944). During this period of the war weapons production in the US was at maximum capacity with both men and equipment in high demand. The M1 Carbine was used by US forces in the European and Pacific theatres and by both air and land forces. This example was part of batch produced from January to August 1944 and may have been involved in the Battle of Bulge (December 1944 to January 1945). The stock bears the scares of service use. Deactivated to current specifcations with a tensioned charging handle and trigger.
