This is an early production Second World War British made Sten MK3. The Sten MK3 was originally conceived by Lines Bros. Ltd in 1941 as an alternative to the MK2, being cheaper and simplier to manufacture. After succesful trials the first orders were received by LB in January 1942. This example would appear to be from the very first batch produed in early 1942. The serial number on the magazine housing 4365 indicates that is gun number 4,365th. The allocated serial number blocks started 00001 to 99999 then A00001 to A99999 and so on. Note the faint ghost markings of the original serial number above second serial number. The condition of this Sten is indicative of a gun that has seen service, whereby the markings have become worn and faint and required to be re-stamped. The Mk3 was issued far and wide during WW2 being used by British ground and Special Forces, the Home Guard and resistance groups in Nazi occupied Europe.

Deactivated to current specifications. This Sten is available and is currently at the proof house being certificated.
