Deactivated WW2 Matching Number 1942 Dated Lee Enfield No4 MK1

This is an all matching numbers WW2 British manufactured Lee Enfield No4 MKI rifle. Unlike the vast majority that are encountered this example retains its original factory numbered bolt and woodwork. It was made by ROF Maltby and is dated 1942. Note the original serial numbers Q15832 have become barely legible due to service use and have been re-applied below. 1942 was the first full year of No4 production, repalcing the aging SMLE as the new standard British infantry rifle. These early production rifles were among the first to be issued and to see active service. Deactivated with a working action.
