Deactivated WW2 Lend Lease Smith & Wesson M&P Revolver
- Product Code: 916SW

This is a WWII Lend Lease Smith & Wesson .38 M&P revolver. The serial number dates to 1942 production, just after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and has the US flaming grenade ordnance and WB inspectors stamps. Marked of the top strap "United States Property", this marking was most commonly associated with weapons what were assigned to the Lend Lease agreement between the UK and US governments. This revolver is definitely one of those and is an early low issue number, marked to New Zealand (NZ , /I\ = Broad arrow acceptance and weapon number 327). In comparison to most other Allied forces, New Zealand had a very small army with around 140,000 personnel deployed during WWII. Revolvers were most commonly issued to officers and commanders of units. Making these marked weapons fairly scarce. Deactivated with a working action.
