Possibly one of the best examples of its type of the infamous WW2 German MG42. This stunning example has matching numbers including the bolt, and a very low two digit serial number. The receiver is correctly marked with the secret makers code "DF M.G.42 64C ar" which denotes the following; DF = 1944, serial number 64c, ar = Mauser Werke, Borsigwalde. On top of the receiver are the two Nazi military acceptance stamps Eagle over 26, that were only used by Mauser on their MG42's. The gun is incredible condition not only on the outside but on the inside as well. The bipod legs have been armourer repaired with the makers code "hec" - Steinbach & Vollmann, Heiligenhaus Bez. Duesseldorf and corresponding Waffenamt stamp just visible. The various other maker codes and Waffen stamps are those of sub-contractors who produced parts for the MG42.

We have included Mauser Werke's production figures from the collectors grade book the "MG34 - MG42 German Universal Machineguns" by Folke Myrvang. This gun being one of only an estimated 35,000 made in 1944. The gun is number 64 from the C suffix block. Folke notes that serial numbers started in the "a" block and finished in the "e" block. Based on his analysis of the serial numbers this gun is around number 13,064th of 1944's production.
