Deactivated WW2 Genuine Nazi Occupation MAB Model D Pistol
- Product Code: 55747MAB
- Availability: Out Of Stock
This is a rare WWII Nazi marked French MAB model D pistol (early first variant). Whilst under occupation, Germany utilized French arms companies to make, supply and arm its own forces. Often using existing models and simply re-designating with a new German code(s). Weapons used were stamped with a Nazi Waffenamt (WaA) code. Under Nazi Germany procurement the MAB was assigned with Waffen code WaA251 & WaAD20 (First and Second Variants). The model D was only manufactured from 1940-44, with only 39,000 of these first variants ever made. Serial numbers ran from around 47000 to 97000. The serial number of this pistol is 55747, that puts it is around number 8,747th off the production line. This being a fine example with its original wartime finish, grips and rare MAB designated magazine. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
This genuine WWII pistol is not to be confused with post war fakes that have been advertised elsewhere. Not only must wartime manufactured MAB models D's fall into the know serial range (with no letter suffix or prefix) but must also have the distinctive barrel nose cap release catch on the under side of the frame. This design feature was omitted from the design after the war. We have included a copy of the page from Jan C Still's book "Axis Pistols" that covers this pistol in detail to help navigate and questionable copies!!
