This is a rare WWII era French made Unique Model 13 pistol chambered in 6.35mm. Produced by French arms makers "MAPF" - Manufacture d'Armes des Pyrénées Françaises from 1923 to 1940. The serial number of this pistol would indicate that it was made around 1939-40. This particular variant utilises the Model 12 slide but with the long grip / frame for a higher capacity 10 round magazine, it would also appear to be fairly scarce model and features the early type 1 safety catch. During WWII German soldiers used the Unique pistols as personal protection weapons. When off duty in hostile towns and cities reprizal attacks from the local partisans and resistance groups was common place who, coincidentally were also armed with these pistols. This example is in untouched orignal condition with its factory grips, blued finish and correct magazine. Deactivated sympathetically with a working action.
