This WW2 issued Enfield No2 MK1* revolver has all the hallmarks of a weapon that saw active service and required repairing. Dated 1941 and 1942 it was subject to repair in 1952 and marked F.T.R.52 meaning Factory Through Repaired in 1952. Below the 1941 date is the inspectors stamp "43 /I\ K"  - a broad arrow acceptance with the numbers 43 and letter K. The Suncorite painted finish is also another clear indication of its continuation in service after WW2. This hard waring protective paint was applied by British armourers as a quick and affective way to keep weapons in service without having to reblue them. It also has a low three digit serial number of S 509. Typicially production letter blocks ran from 0001 to 9999 meaning this is revolver number 509th of S block. Included are 6 inert .38 rounds. Deactivated with a working action.
