This is a Second World War issued British Sten MK5. This example has clearly seen active service and has an even patina throughout of which only achieved through service use. It has matching numbers to the magazine housing, stock and foresight protector. On the underside of the stock is the regiment initials "1.B.R." this is beleived to be an abbreviation for the 1st Border Regiment who had the 1st Airborne Division and 1st Airlanding Brigade attached to them. They were involved and took part in Operation Market Garden in Sept 1944. The 1st Airborne Division were also sent to Norway in 1945.
