Deactivated WW1 Krag-Jorgensen Rifle dated 1917

This is a First World War Krag-Jorgensen Model 94 Rifle dated 1917. The Krag magazine loading system is unique. It has a distinctive magazine that is integral with the receiver with an opening on the right hand side with a hinged cover to make loading quicker. This clever design allows rounds to be inserted through the side opening, and pushed up, around, and into the action by a spring follower. Very clever and advanced for the time. In 1940 Norway was invaded by German forces, Norwegian forces were armed with these Krag's but were soon overwhelmed by the German "Blitzkrieg". This rifle has all matching numbers with except of the bolt whicj matched to itself. Deactivated to current specifications.
