Deactivated Walther Model 9 Pistol

This is a Walther Model 9 Pistol - Type 2 dating to 1933. The model 9 was a very succesful pistol for Walther being produced from 1921 until the end of the war in 1945. The type 2 was in production from 1924 until 1934 with an estimated 108,000 made when serial number 640,XXX was reached. This pistol being number 635,445 it was made the year Hitler came to power. After coming to power the Nazi's imposed strict gun laws with only authorised people and personnel being permitted to own a firearm. During WW2 production small quantities were allocated to Nazi's being used for personal protection. Deactivated with a working action.
