Deactivated Tokagypt 58 pistol

This is a scarce Tokagypt 58 pistol with holster and spare magazine. In 1957 Fémáru Fegyver és Gépgyár (FEG) received the Egyptian Army contract for 30,000 Tokarev TT-33 type pistols in 9x19mm Parabellum however, only 13,250 pistols were delivered after which the contract was terminated by the Egyptians. There is some controversy as to why. It was most likely a political decision although there are claims that Egypt had payment problems. The pistols are of high quality and an improvement on the Tokarev TT that they are based on. We suspect that this one may have been from the cancelled batch based on the serial number range and the deleted Egyptian crest from the slide. It has all viisble matching numbers including the magazine. Deactivated with a working action.
