Deactivated Swedish Remington M/1867-1889-1893 Short rifle

This is a Swedish military issued Remington M/1867-1889-1893 Short rifle, chambered in 8mm. The crown over letter C indicates that this rifle was produced in-house at the Carl Gustafs stads Gevarsfaktori in 1872, and on the right hand side of the receiver is the conversion number and date "13308/94". The brass disc bears the regimental markings "28R. B. No588" = 28th Swedish Army Regiment, B company, weapon numnber 588. These carbines or short rifles are fairly scare with only a few thousand produced before it was phased out with the introduction of the bolt action rifle. Finding a complete example with matching numbers and its military markings is unusual, many were sporterised after being sold off.

 

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired and comes with an EU/UK deactivation certificate.
