Possibly one the best examples you are likely to encounter of a Russian manufactured SKS with all visivble matching numbers. Dated 1952, the top cover bears the makers symbol of the Tula Arsenal. Soviet production started in 1949 and ceased in the late 1950s. It proved to be a very popular Communist weapon seeing widespread use during the Vietnam War. The woodwork on this example is superb and is enhanced by the black painted finish to the metal parts. The bolt carrier moves under spring tension and can be locked back and will then release once pushed.
