Deactivated SMLE 2A1 rifle

This is a 1965 dated R.F.I. manufactured SMLE 2A1 rifle, chambered 7.62mm NATO. Using the No1 MKIII rifle platform it was built to chamber the then new 7.62mm cartridge being used in the British SLR. The most obvious visual difference is the square box magazine.It also utilises the aluminum L1A1 butt-stock cap used on the early wooden stock SLR's. Deactivated current specifications with moving, trigger and working safety. The magazine is removable.
