This is a great condition West German manufactured military issued SIG Sauer P226. The P226 was developed for the XM9 Service Pistol Trials, held by the US Military in mid-1980s to replace the legendary Colt 1911A1. Based on the SIG P220, but developed to use higher capacity, staggered-column magazines it proved to be an excellent replacement and went on to be adopted by some US Special Forces Units, including the US Navy SEALs. Here in the UK it too was adopted by specialist units, most notably the SAS - Special Air Service.
In the James Bond movie "Spectre" Daniel Craig - 007 is see demonstrating to Dr. Madeleine Swann how a P226 works. Included is a Blackhawk molded holster.
