Deactivated Rare French SACM 1935A Pistol

This is a rare French SACM 1935A pistol. Production of this model started in early 1939 being manufactured at the SACM factory, Cholet, France.  Around 10,700 guns were produced before the armistice of June 1940. During Nazi occupation, the Germans continued production until April 1944 when France was liberated. After the war,  SACM resumed manufacture for the French Army and delivered 50,400 more pistols. Production was finally discontinued in 1950 with a total of production of just 84,950. This example dates to around 1947- 48 and is identical to the wartime guns. It retains is distinctive black enamel painted finish, grips and correct magazine. Deactivated with a working action.
