Deactivated Mauser C96 Bolo

 

 

This is a pre WWII Mauser C96 Bolo pistol. The “Bolo” Mauser is the short barreled version of the original C96 that were originally produced for the new Bolshevik government of Soviet Russia. The name “Bolo” is derived from the word Bolshevik. They were also exported and used during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and saw active service during WWII with partisan groups and military units from both Allies and Axis forces. This example has a lovely even patina finish throughout.
