This is a post WWII FN Browning Model 1910 pistol chambered in 7.65mm, circa 1950s. The proof stamp star over N was used by Henri Florkin who was an inspector from 1927-1958. As the models name suggests, first produced in 1910 for commercial and governmental markets, it was also adopted and used by many countries as a military issued sidearm. Its compact size, superb build quality and accuracy made it a very popular choice. This model and calibre were used by Gavrilo Princip to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in 1914, which in turn started the First World War . During WWII German officers and officials armed themselves with this model. This example has matching numbers and retains is original factory grips and correct magazine. Deactivated with a working action.
