Deactivated 1970s Communist Chinese SKS semi automatic carbine

This is a 1970s Communist Chinese SKS semi automatic carbine. Designed in 1945, this carbine was the for runner to the legendary Kalashnikova AK47. This original example has all matching numbers and features an integral folding bayonet. The serial number dates to 1976 as the year of manfacture. The same year that saw the death of Chinese leader Mao Zedong the revolutionary who was the founder of the People's Republic of China (PRC). The SKS is still used in use today in many countries being chambered in the readily availavble 7.62mm round. Many saw service during the Vietnam war. Deactivated to current specifications with moving bolt carrier that returns under spring tension.
