This is a superb example of a British SLR L1A1. Dated 1962, it was made by Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) and looks to be one of only a handful that have remained original with its factory finish and early wood furniture. It also has matching numbers to the receiver, trigger assembly, bolt and carrier!! And if wasn't enough even the component parts such as the gas plug / front sight housing and charging handle are the correct date and maker codes for BSA 1962 (B62). The SLR is without doubt one of the best British infantry rifles ever made. Well made and virtually indestructible, it soon became a dependable military weapon, most famously seeing active service in Northern Ireland and Falklands War. A great many British soldiers who had the privalege to serve with one will give great testimony to its prowess. A truly exceptional and genuine all matching numbers British SLR.
This SLR is available and is currently at the proof house awaiting a replacement deactivation certificate.
