This is a Second World War dated British made Bren MK1. Dated 1943, it was manufactured by RSAF Enfield. 1942 and 1943 saw peak production for Bren guns by Enfield as the Allied forces ramped up production in preparation for the D-Day Landing of June 1944. We know that this Bren saw active service sometime between mid 1943, after it was made, and 1945 when it was subsequently repaired and stamped again. The receiver is clearly marked with the Enfield factory '43 (1943) issue date and inspectors stamps but also a second set; '45 (1945) applied after it was repaired in 1945. The replacement bipod legs, MK2 stock with an armourers repair and the chip out of the wooden carry handle are unequivocally proof that this Bren saw frontline action. If you are looking for a WW2 Bren that's been there and done it, then look no further!!! Included with the Bren is BSA manufactured magazine.
