Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver

This is an all matching numbers Colt 1849 Pocket 5 shot percussion revolver, chmabered in .31. The serial number 89711 dates to 1854 as the year of production. This early variant features the two lined Colt address font on the barrel and has the much rarer silver plated trigger guard and pistol grip. The majority were made using brass. The 1849 revolver was one of Colt's most successful models being in production from 1850 until 1873. A great many saw service during the US Civil War (1861 to 1865). This beautiful example has all visible matching numbers including the wedge and ram rod. The action is still crisp and tight and indexes correctly when cocking the hammer.

This example has a lovely patina to the finish and is chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
