This is a Second World War Japanese Imperial Army, Nambu Type 94 pistol with its original matching magazine. It was manufactured at the Nambu Rifle Manufacturing Company, and is one of only 71,200 Type 94 pistols produced during the war. Production started in 1935 and ended when Japan surrendered in 1945. The date code "19.11" translates to 1944 November as the year of production. This pistol being made whilst US forces made large strategic gains and targeted / bombing Japanese weapons manufacturing factories. This pistol is indicative of a late war or last ditch pistol. Quality of finish was less import and the Bakelite grips were replaced simpler with wooden examples. The Type 94 was very popular among Japanese troops and by all accounts due to it's smaller size and weight, was predominantly issued to Japanese officers. Deactivated to current specifications with moving slide and trigger. The magazine can be removed.
