Deactivated WW2 German K98 Sniper Rifle
- Product Code: 416sniper
- Availability: Reserved
This is a WW2 German K98 that has been converted into a short side rail mounted sniper rifle. The receiver has clearly been scrubbed of its original markings however, still visible is the date letter code "4". This single letter date code 4 was only used in 1944 by Steyr (bnz) and Gustloff Werke (bcd). Steyr also produced SS marked K98's with a single rune stamped above the date stamp. Perhaps it was scrubbed off for this reason? This variant of sniper rifle was also predominantly produced for the SS. The scope fitted is a Ajack 2.5x70 with a low serial number and similar to the type fitted during the war. The optics are in great condition. Deactivated with a working action. Included is a genuine wartime leather slings and cleaning rod.
