This is a .320 calibre Bulldog / Webley RIC type revolver. The markings would indicate that it was made in Belgium and sold to Germany. The proof markings "Crown over U" on the frame by the serial number are German. The revolver dates to around 1900 and is a direct copy of the British Webley Bulldog / R.I.C. revolvers. They proved very popular among gentry for personal protection, and were also used by both sides during WW1 as boot or back up guns, being easy to hide in a muddy boot or pocket. This example retains its original wooden grip, lanyard hoop and cartridge extractor rod. Deactivated to current specifications with clear chambers. The cylinders will cycle / rotate when the trigger is pulled.
