This is a genuine WWII Russian Mosin Nagant M91/30 sniper rifle that was manufactured by Tula in 1943. During production rifles made at the Tula plant selected for conversion were marked on the receiver with the initails "C H" , the Russian "sniper grade proof mark". This variant is fitted with an original PU scope and mount. The optics are in superb condition.
This model of Russian sniper rifle came to great notoriety in the film Enemy at the Gates, a WWII film about the Russian sniper ace Vassili Zaitsev, played by Jude Law. Zaitsev is credited with 242 kills in Stalingrad using this type of Nagant rifle. Russia, unlike most other military nations, also used women to carry out sniper duties, and had over 2000 during WW2. They proved very effective and accurate snipers!! Deactivated with a working action.
