This is one of the more scarce makers of the WW2 M1 Carbine. It was manufactured by National Postal Meter who unlike Inland and Winchester, who produced huge quantities of the M1's, National Postal Meter made relatively small numbers, just 413,017 carbines. This example is from their third and final batch of 1943. Serial numbers ran from 4075010 to 4432099, this gun being number 4175844. It is fitted with a rare Buffalo Arms manufactured barrel dated 11-1943. Buffalo Arms were one of only a the few companies who were sub-contracted to make M1 barrels during the war. The majority of M1 Carbine manufacturers made their own barrels.
Deactivated to current specification with a charging handle that can be held in the safe position and will return under spring tension. The magazine can be moved and contains several inert .30 rounds.
This carbine is available and is currently at the proof house being certificated.
