This is an intriguing Second World War issued Russian Mosin Nagant M38 carbine. This carbine has clearly been assembled using parts from two guns, the receiver and butt-plate from one and the magazine and bolt from another. The butt-plate has what looks to be a German repair depot marking. The initials Hza was a code used by armorers at repair depots. The 87 R may refer to the armourer or depot number / location? The addition of a K98 cleaning rod would also suggest it may have been in German hands!  The carbine has no post war Russian rework markings and has definitely seen plenty of action, the woodwork is covered in battle scars and all metal components are worn with an even patina throughout. Both during and after Operation Barbarossa the German's captured millions of Russian weapons and re-issued them.
