Deactivated WW2 British Bomber Browning .303 Machine Gun

This is a genuine WW2 British Bomber Browning .303 turret machine gun that was recovered from a crash site. This gun was one of a pair mounted in a turret as seen on the Lancaster and Wellington bombers. Turret mounted guns have a very distinctive muzzle flash hider as seen on this gun. Although the original markings normally found on the top cover have disappeared from decades of being in the ground, the serial number L7857  does help. With some further investigation it may offer the chance to indentify which plane and squadron it was from prior to it coming down. A rare piece of RAF wartime history - definitely worthy of some further research.
