Deactivated 1943 Dated Colt Made 1911A1

This is a WW2 manufactured Colt made 1911A1 pistol. The serial number 899,580 is from a batch made Colt in 1943. The serial range used by Colt was from 857,000 to 1,609,529. These guns bear the Inspector of Ordnance initials of Guy H Drewry  "G.H.D", as can be seen on this example with the military P proof stamps. The now iconic Colt 1911A1 was the standard issue sidearm for the majority of US servicemen during WW2, firing the hard hitting .45 cartridge.  This superb example comes with an original Colt made magazine and 1 inert 1943 dated round.
