1867 Chassepot Rifle with all matching numbers

This is a rare find, an early production French Chassepot Fusil Modelle 1866 breech-loading bolt action rifle. Dated 1867, only the second year of production this rifle still has its original matching bolt, barrel, receiver and stock. A remarkable achievement considering this rifle is 158 years old!!! First adopted into French military service in 1866, the Chassepot was a marked improvement and step forward in bolt action rifle technology.

This rifle is chambered in an obsolete calibre and can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Unlike the majority this example still has an intact firing pin.
